Werder captain Fritz ends his career

Werder Bremen’s captain Clemens Fritz is retiring after the current season. The 35-year-old announced this in an open letter on Thursday. “In the past few days and weeks I have thought extensively about my personal future,” wrote the former national player: “After careful consideration, I have come to the decision that I will end my sporting career after this season.”
