The first opponent of the new Bundesliga season for Werder Bremen has been determined. At the start there is a traditional away game at a top team.
It still takes two months before the ball rolls again in the Bundesliga. But since Thursday it has been clear which team Werder Bremen starts the new season. The new SVW head coach Horst Steffen and his team will go to Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday 1st.
The German Football League (DFL) still announces whether the game will take place on Saturday (August 23) or Sunday (August 24). Previously, the fans were allowed to puzzle, which encounters in addition to the opening game between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig (Friday, August 22, 8:30 p.m.) on the 1st matchday. There were five hints of the DFL before the resolution followed.
Horst Steffen is looking forward to an “exciting opening program against a top team in the league”. His team could prove their strengths directly in this game. Werder defense chief and captain Marco Friedl feared a “really difficult start”. “Nevertheless, we want to pass there and when possible, take three points with us. We are very much looking forward to the game,” he said.
From when the tickets are available for the away game, Werder Bremen still left open. For the first four home games, the pre -sale on July 8 from 11 a.m. should begin. The complete schedule for the new Bundesliga season will be released on Friday from 2 p.m.
