Werder Bremen lends Nick Woltemade to SV Elversberg

Youngest Bremen Bundesliga professional

Nick Woltemade leaves Werder Bremen for the first time in his career and joins SV Elversberg on loan. The youngest Bundesliga professional in the history of the Green-Whites is to receive game practice in the 3rd division for a season, there is no purchase option.

“There is no question that Nick Woltemade has a lot of talent. He will be very good for our squad with his technical qualities and his freshness on the pitch and will continue to liven up our offensive. We’re happy that we can plan with Nick for the remainder of the season,” said SVE sporting director Ole Book. Woltemade himself said: “I thought carefully about moving from Bremen to Elversberg and I’m sure I’ve found a promising club in SVE that suits me well. Personally, I want to gain more match practice here and at the same time support the team in continuing to play successful and worth seeing offensive football in the 3rd division.”

For Woltemade, who made his debut in February 2020 in a 2-1 draw against FC Augsburg, things have not been going as well as hoped for due to a number of injuries. In total he played 21 games for Werder, only two of them from the start. “During his development phase, it’s important for Nick that he gets a lot of match practice at a high level. We are therefore pleased that the opportunity with SV Elversberg has arisen. We are absolutely convinced of Nick’s qualities and are certain that he will take the next step there and then return to us stronger,” said Clemens Fritz, head of professional football and scouting in Bremen.
