Werder Bremen: Full pitcher decision to say goodbye

Sought-after Werder striker

National player Niclas Füllkrug has apparently made a decision about his future and definitely wants to leave Bundesliga club Werder Bremen this summer – at least that’s what the TV station reports.sky‘ citing his own information. His advisors are already exploring the market, but FC Torino, who was last associated with the 30-year-old center forward, should not play a serious role.

With 15 goals this season so far, Füllkrug is the top scorer in the Bundesliga. Füllkrug’s contract in Bremen ends in the summer of 2025. The native of Hanover, who was recently associated with West Ham United in addition to the Italians, had recently kept a low profile with regard to the rumors of a change about his person. “It’s the end of March, we still have nine league games left. We can sum it up after the season,” said Füllkrug in the run-up to the bankruptcy against TSG Hoffenheim. Although he “enjoys playing in Bremen”, he still left a future on the Weser open. The Bremen striker “heard” the words of Werder’s Head of Licensing, Clemens Fritz, that the club had to generate transfer income in the summer. However, no detailed talks have been held and they will probably only do so at the end of the season, “because there is currently no reason for me to shift my focus,” said the right-footer recently about his personal plans for the future.

When asked about the coveted personal details, Fritz announced “that we will have to earn money through transfers in the summer.” An upgrade of three million euros has been considered. In front of his strike partner Marvin Ducksch, Füllkrug is by far the most valuable professional in the Werder squad – together, the North Germans also lead the ranking of the most prolific goalscoring duos in the league. A sale of the national player could bring in a corresponding fee for the Bremen team in the summer. In his contract, which runs until 2025, there is a clause that will reduce his annual salary at Osterdeich from the rumored 2.5 million euros to two million euros in favor of the cash-strapped Bundesliga club from the coming season. All these points speak for an early farewell.
