The former German junior international and former professional of Werder Bremen, FC Ingolstadt and 1. FC Nürnberg, Robert Bauer, is becoming increasingly developing into a soccer-globetrotter. After stations in Russia, Belgium, Saudi Arabia and most recently Azerbaijan, the 30-year-old defender is now moving to Thailand. On Tuesday he was introduced to record champions Buriram United.

Bauer spent the past season at Neftchi PFK, where he was used 15 times. The defensive all-rounder from the KSC youth left Germany in 2019 with its transfer-free change from Bremen to Arsenal Tula, but did not extend his contract in Russia in the summer of 2021. This was followed by stations at VV St. Truiden, Al-Tai FC and most recently in Baku.

In the Buriram in eastern Thailand, Bauer meets the Austrian couple Peter Zulj (32) and Robert Zulj (33), also presented on Tuesday. The offensive midfielder, who once ran for Hoffenheim, Fürth, Bochum and Union Berlin, comes free of charge after his contract resolution at the LASK as well as right -back Filip Stojkovic (33). Striker Fejsal Mulic (30, from 2013 to 2016 for 1860 Munich), who moved from Yelimay Semey in Kazakhstan to Thailand, was also active in Germany.
