Now Nick Woltemade is still changing. Instead of Munich, Stuttgart’s striker goes to the Premier League. His ex-club is happy.
The transfer poker around international Nick Woltemade took a surprising turn. The 23 -year -old striker is about to move from VfB Stuttgart to the English club Newcastle United. The Swabian Bundesliga club, reportedly, collects up to 90 million euros as a transfer fee.
If the transfer finally goes over the stage, the hard course that VfB has driven in the Woltemade Causa would have been paid out so far. FC Bayern had promoted the attacker for weeks, but was flashed with several – especially lower ones – offers from the Stuttgart.
So now it is time to pay payday for the Stuttgart – and another club from the Bundesliga: Werder Bremen. Because Nick Woltemade was not only born in Bremen, he also went through all the young teams of the green-whites, before he was able to celebrate his professional debut for Werder in spring 2020.
Specifically, this means that Bremen is awarded five percent of the transfer fee as an apprenticeship association because he goes to a club abroad for him. When changing within the Bundesliga, Werder would have left empty.
In the statutes of the German Football Association, it is explicitly that clubs that have trained a player between the ages of 12 and 23 are entitled to this share. In total, that would be more than four million euros.
An unexpected money rain for the Bremeners, the Woltemade had to let the Woltemade go to Stuttgart free of charge in the summer of 2024.
