Talents in action at the U19
1. FSV Mainz 05 has given the two talents Nelson Weiper (17) and Philipp Schulz (16) their first professional contracts. The Rheinhessen announced this on Friday. Currently attacker Weiper, who has scored 19 goals in 17 games this season, and defensive midfielder Schulz are still part of the Mainz U19 squad.
“Both Nelson and Philipp are great talents and have every chance to hit the ground running. We will continue to promote them in a targeted manner in order to create the best possible conditions for them to take the next steps in their development – I am sure that we will also see them in our professional team in the future,” explained Sport Director Christian Heidel about the two youngsters, who are also international should have aroused great interest.
