Racing driver Pascal Wehrlein narrowly missed out on a podium finish at the Formula E season opener.
The 31-year-old took fourth place in his Porsche on Saturday in Sao Paulo. Briton Jake Dennis (Andretti) secured victory ahead of his compatriot and world champion Oliver Rowland (Nissan) and New Zealander Nick Cassidy (Citroen).
Wehrlein, the 2024 world champion, initially set the fastest lap in qualifying, but the German was subsequently moved back three starting positions due to spinning tires in the pit lane. “Of course I benefited from Wehrlein’s relocation and was able to move away from pole position,” said winner Dennis. Maximilian Günther (DS Penske) reached seventh place.
The twelfth season of the racing series will be the most extensive to date, comprising eleven stations with 17 races around the world until August 2026. Driving mostly takes place in big cities. Berlin will also be there again with a double event on May 2nd and 3rd, the venue will still be Tempelhofer Feld. It continues on January 10th in Mexico City.
