Anyone after swimming or walking at the Kibbelkoele sense in fries, ice or a cup of coffee can go to Marije Dokter’s car since this week. At the end of 2021, Kiosk was lost by fire. But now food and drink can be purchased again at the lake in North Sleen.
“It was still a while to wait for the permits, but now I am open every Wednesday until Sunday,” says Dokter. “I really like it.”
Staatsbosbeheer, owner of the area, was looking for someone this spring who wants to stand at the lake for the next two years in the summer period for the next two years. In the end the choice fell on Dokter.
The first days went well. “Because of the weather I did not expect so much, but they were great days. Croquettes, ice creams and drinks were particularly over the counter. I was also lucky that the route of the Drentse Bicycle4Daagse came along here.”
Doctor runs the car alone. “Fortunately I have help from friends around me, also to make a start. But I am supposed to stand here alone every day.”
And she can’t complain about the view from her workplace. “This is wonderful. I really work in a wonderful environment. Although I have no customers, I am still in the right place.”
