Weather chaos: German handball players miss their flight

After the success against the runner-up world champion, the German national handball team is heading back to Germany. But then there is a big obstacle.
The German national handball team was temporarily slowed down on the way home after the European Championship test match in Croatia. Due to severe winter conditions, the departure from Zagreb was delayed by more than an hour. As a result, the connecting flight to Hanover was missed – an onward flight would not have been possible until Saturday. Instead, the team continued by bus, as the association announced.
National team manager Benjamin Chatton said: “The planned team evening has turned into a team trip. In order to use tomorrow for regeneration, we have decided to continue the journey directly by bus.”
In terms of sport, the DHB team impressed on Thursday evening with a 32:29 win against vice world champion Croatia. The dress rehearsal for the European Championship will take place in Hanover on Sunday (from 6:05 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online) – again against the Croatians.
