We drink less beer, unless it contains little or no alcohol: “I never dared to think that things would go so fast” | Domestic

There is little more Belgian than beer, but the consumption of foamy barley beer has been declining in our country for years. Within this shrinking market, the recent and rather unexpected success of non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beers is all the more striking. “Our Sportzot, the first non-alcoholic specialty beer on the Belgian market, has only been around for 5 years and already accounts for 15% of our turnover,” says Xavier Vanneste of the Bruges city brewery De Halve Maan.
