The World University Games 2025 is available on the WDR live on TV and stream. All broadcasts to the top event to the Rhine and Ruhr from July 17th to 27th, 2025.
After more than 35 years, the world student games take place again in NRW. From July 16 to 27, over 8,000 athletes compete against each other in 18 disciplines such as athletics, beach volleyball, tennis or 3×3 basketball.
In addition to Bochum, Duisburg, Essen, Hagen and Mülheim an der Ruhr, Berlin is also one of the competition locations at World University Games 2025.
Monday, July 21st
On the fifth day of the World University Games 2025 in the Ruhr area, the focus is on the lightthletics, with shot puts from women and the 100m final of the men. Live from 8:15 p.m., also on WDR television.
Tuesday, July 22nd
The sixth competition day offers a lot of variety: volleyball, athletics, basketball and swimming.
Wednesday, July 23rd
The seventh competition day at the University Games offers six livestreams – including athletics, the final in volleyball and basketball.
Thursday, July 24th
The eighth competition day offers a lot of athletics again: with the mixed relay and the final in the men’s shot put. In addition, the final pairing is sought in basketball.
Friday, July 25th
On the ninth day of the World University Games, athletics, among other things, deal with the 800m race and the decathlon of men.
Saturday, July 26th
The penultimate day offers medal decisions about the 5,000m and the javelin throw and high jump of women.
Sunday, July 27th – Final concert
Instead of a classic graduation ceremony, there is a final concert with the band Deichkind in the Duisburg-Nord landscape park.
