A wax doll depicting Vladimir Putin has been removed from Grév’s wax cabinet in Paris after Russia invaded Ukraine. The wax doll is designed to be replaced by a wax doll depicting the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. After that, Zelenskyi would stand in the same ranks as world leaders, including the president of the United States Joe BidenQueen Elizabeth of England and President of China Xi Jingpingin alongside.

– Because of what is happening, we do not want Putin here. Also, the staff doesn’t want to walk past him every day, the museum director Yves Delhommeau says.

At the same time, Delhommeau adds that Grév’s wax cabinet has never before wanted to keep dictators like Hitler in its collections.

The wax doll depicting Putin in Grév’s wax cabinet was made in 2000. Since the beginning of the war, it has faced a lot of vandalism. However, the statue is not going to be thawed, but will be moved to storage for storage.

Grév’s wax cabinet was founded by a journalist Arthur Meyer inspired by the wax cabinet of Madame Tussauds, founded in 1835 in London in 1882.
