This is the conclusion of research by NH News based on discussions with the organizations involved and internal documents that were requested through the Open Government Act.
Pro-Israël Clubs: ‘We haven’t had any contact at all’
The largest pro-Israeli organizations in the Netherlands, the CIDI, Christians for Israel (CVI) and the Israeli embassy inform NH News independently of each other that they have not put pressure on the municipality, have not had contact with the municipality and have not threatened media attention.
The CIDI received the mail, but did nothing with it. That says spokesperson Hans Wallage: “We received one report, but nothing else was done. We certainly had no contact with the municipality. To be honest, we were surprised when we read in the media that we were seen as a threat.”
Also spokesperson Sara van Oordt van Christians for Israel agrees: “When I read that we were called” threat “, I really thought: what is the best man talking about?”
