On Monday, Norway was responsible for one of the biggest surprises of the World Cup, when the underdog defeated Canada 3–2 in the winning goal contest.
The victory was already close in regular time. The referee’s decisions at the end of the third period made headlines.

Norway led 2–1 with less than a minute to go. according to SVT The game started when Canada delivered the puck right from the start to the Norwegians’ bench.

However, the referees whistled the kick-off in the Norwegian defensive zone. Norway’s head coach Johansson got angry on the bench.
Canada won that kickoff and tied the game at 2-2 with just 12 seconds left. The match went into overtime.
Totally messed up
According to NRK, the 2-2 goal was preceded by another situation that angered the Norwegian camp. Johannes Johannesen fought, but Canada could not get a break.

The Norwegian coach was hot even after the match. The anger was softened by defeating Canada in the winning goal competition.
The last time Norway beat Canada at the World Hockey Championships was in 2000.
