Companies that are already correctly registered are also at risk. “The same company can be registered on multiple platforms,” Odent explains. “It is therefore important to regularly check whether there are any unknown registrations.”
This can be done via the official Peppol Directory, an online register in which all active Peppol accounts are listed. “By entering your company number, you can immediately see whether everything is correct. If you see something suspicious, you can quickly intervene.”
The experts call on companies to be vigilant now that e-invoicing becomes mandatory. “The system offers many advantages, but only if users remain sufficiently alert,” concludes Odent.
