Warner Bros. may be working on Moto GP feature film

According to information from “Motorsport.com”, MotoGP has launched a new project that aims to attract the attention of younger audiences: a feature-length film that will revolve around the racing series. She is once again following in the footsteps of Formula 1.

Because there will be a film about this in the foreseeable future, in which the seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton will be co-producing. None other than Brad Pitt stars in the lead role. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, who was last nominated for an Oscar for “Top Gun: Maverick”.

The main protagonist of the planned MotoGP film is a Moto2 rider who is promoted to the World Championship from the FIM’s Junior GP series. At the end of the season he will be given the opportunity to take part in a MotoGP race via wildcard, which will surprise with a completely unexpected outcome.

MotoGP movie said to have ‘engrossing storyline’

To ensure the success of the project, one of the industry’s leading multinationals, Warner Bros Entertainment, will be responsible for international distribution and co-produce with Mogambo and 4CATS.

The film’s script, titled “Idols,” recreates fictional careers that didn’t take place in reality, but are based on actual footage from the three World Cup categories. It will be partly edited and partly shot specifically for the film at future major awards shows.

It aims to be an action-packed drama spiced with romance, adventure and an immersive storyline, aimed at audiences around the world, but primarily at younger fans – the very niche it’s trying to appeal to.

The film is slated to hit theaters in 2025

Filming is expected to begin later this year and last through 2024. The finished film is scheduled to hit theaters in 2025. The main actors have not yet been determined, but are said to be of international standing.

Alongside Warner Bros Entertainment, Mogambo and 4CATS, the film is being produced by the award-winning Andrew Eaton, who is responsible for, among other things, the 2013 film “Rush”, which tells the gripping story of Formula 1 legend Niki Lauda and his duel with James Hunt told.

In the MotoGP paddock, teams and sponsors have welcomed the new project, which aims to give young people a glimpse into the inner workings of MotoGP.
