Wandering and wandering in mega corn maze Meerstad: four kilometers long labyrinth, but if you do it right, you can finish in one and a half kilometers

Those who want to wander among man-sized maize should visit Meerstad in the coming months.

For the eighth time since 2013, a mega corn maze has been constructed next to the beach in Groningen’s youngest district: the size of three football fields. A four kilometer long labyrinth, but if you pay attention and do not get lost, you can reach the exit in one and a half kilometers.

Woldmeer is a source of inspiration

For those who don’t see it so quickly, there is a watchtower in the heart of the maze to map out the right route. The adjacent Woldmeer is the source of inspiration for the route this year. Corridors that have been mowed in the maize, are in the shape of that word or boats and water drops, among other things.

During the holiday season, the maze is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. From August 28, it will open at 12 noon on weekdays and from 11 a.m. on weekends. Until October 1, after which the farmer drives the forage harvester to harvest the maize for his cattle.

But first there is a farewell party on that final day, with an evening lantern tour with fox hunting. More information at: meerstad.eu/maismazehof
