After his contract at SV Waldhof Mannheim, goalkeeper Jan-Christoph Bartels is drawn abroad for the first time. The 26-year-old joins the Slovak first division club DAC Dunajska Streda, in which he signed a one-year contract including the option for another season. For Waldhof, Bartels completed 97 games in five years, last season he stayed ten times without conceding in 34 third division games.
“I am very happy about this challenge and have found excellent conditions for the next step in my career. I come to a very ambitious club, which is very opposed to me, because I am similar. I am convinced that I will settle in quickly and get the team to a successful season. It is my first stay abroad, I leave my comfort zone, but I am convinced that this is exactly the best environment in which I am in the best way in which I am can get out of this step by Sidney Friede and Niklas Summer, with whom I used to play and who were active at the DAC, ”said Bartels.
