SV Waldhof Mannheim has parted ways with head coach Rüdiger Rehm with immediate effect. That gave the table 17th. of the 3rd league after a decision by the supervisory board on Wednesday evening. Marco Antwerp will take over as his successor. The 45-year-old Rehm took over in July 2023 and scored 1.12 points per game. Although there have been three wins under his direction in the last five games, he has to make room. Antwerp (52) last coached 1. FC Kaiserslautern from February 2021 to May 2022.
“We have come to the conclusion that a new impulse and the associated change in the coaching position are necessary in order to achieve our goal of staying in the league. “In his past positions, Marco has always shown that he can have a big influence on a team in a short time,” said Waldhof’s supervisory board boss Christian Beetz.
