The Easter weekend is the official start of the tourist season for Texel and this year holidaymakers know how to find the island again. “The weather is tastier than last year. If we compare it with last year, we also see that we have significantly more bookings,” says Rosalie Lap from Texel VVV.

But a packed island with tourists, Texelaars don’t have to be afraid of that. “The most beautiful places are of course well booked in advance, but there is now also supply. The island is large, so we have enough space,” says Lap.

Bustle at the boat

The only bottleneck for a weekend in Texel can be the crossing. Although today there is a sailing every half hour between 9:30 AM and 8:00 PM, since this afternoon, travelers have to count on a two -hour waiting time from Den Helder. “I think we really have the peak now and it will stay that way until the end of the afternoon,” says a Teso spokesperson.
