But at the last minute, the law was sharpened by a tightening of the PVV: criminalizing illegality.

That novelle must also be treated by the House of Representatives. CDA important link
The CDA missing in the last asylum debate voted by the tightening against the law, but with this short story it should become clear whether the party is still behind the law. The CDA is mainly an important link in the Senate and needed for a majority. In the Lower House, the role of the PVV is important: if that party votes against the weakening of its own plan to criminalize illegality, a majority seems to be out of sight for the entire law.
Whether the Chamber actually deals with the law before the elections depends on the timing of the advice and whether there is a majority in the Chamber for the request. Parties such as PVV and GL/PvdA do not want to anticipate this.
