VV Hoogeveen shoots TAC ‘ 90 on a lot and is leader again

FOOTBALL – vv Hoogeveen has made an excellent recovery after the painful defeat in the top match against Be Quick 1887 last week. That game was lost 5-0, as a result of which the team from Drenthe lost the top position in the main division A. Today the team of trainer Nico Haak won 7-1 against TAC’90. Be Quick 1887 lost at TOGB and so Hoogeveen is again the leader of the list.

Hoogeveen now has 40 points from 19 matches. Be Quick 1887 (which lost 4-2 to TOGB) has 38 points out of 19 and SJC is in third place with 36 out of 18. That team also lost by the way, with 5-1 at VOC.

Great start

Hoogeveen had a very simple afternoon against the poor TAC’90. Within 35 minutes it was already 3-0, by hits from Joost Screever, Levon van Dijk and a beautiful own goal by Fernando Couvreur. He headed past his own goalkeeper.

Red

Five minutes before half time, Yassin Irzi was hit. The number 10 of the formation from The Hague planted his studs full in the shin of Kjelt Engbers. It immediately gave the midfielder of TAC’90 a red card and for Engbers it was the end of the game.

With eleven against ten, we had to wait for more goals and they came. Hoogeveen, which at least destroyed ten huge chances by being offside, scored four more and the guests saved the honor at 5-0 via Aloisio Da Luz. Jim Veltmaat, Tom Heerkes, substitute Ben Ali Ahlaq and club top scorer Raphael Ngendakumana scored for the home club. Screever missed a penalty at 6-1. Incidentally, TAC’90 player Marlito Ascencao, at 6-1, also got red for comments on the lead.

‘We don’t have to talk about that penalty’

“We don’t need to talk about that penalty anymore, but I think that as a team we gave an excellent answer to that defeat last week. We are back on top and have everything in our own hands,” said Screever. “By the way, we really could have hit double digits today.”
