Volunteers wanted to bake cookies according to age-old recipes

Onno Terspstra is such a volunteer. “We use a mix of spices and herbs that were very common 400 years ago,” he says. “Long peppers were even around in Roman times. They have an aroma of cinnamon, anise and licorice.” That’s why it doesn’t smell old and musty in the Bonck museum house, but wonderfully like freshly baked cookies.
