Volleyball, women’s playoffs, Scandicci overwhelms Bergamo and flies to the semifinals

The Tuscans also win the second challenge against the Lombards without problems and are waiting for the winner of the beautiful match between Milan and Casalmaggiore

Bergamo-Scandicci 03 (18-25, 14-25, 14-25)

Easier than in the first leg where, at least, Volley Bergamo, despite losing 3-0, had forced Scandicci into some overtime. Here in Bergamo, in race two, the Tuscans made no concessions. They faced the match carefully and concentrated, chasing the point with merciless malice. In the end it was a 3-0 whose partials leave little room for the imagination. Scandicci showed, once again, devastating power in attack, thanks to the conclusions of Zhu Ting, Antropova and Pietrini, almost never stopped by the Bergamo wall.

Perfect

But the performance of the Florentine sextet was perfect from every point of view: from receiving to building and also in the wall-defence correlation. And the power plants themselves expressed themselves on excellent levels, well primed by the setter Di Iulio, one of the many former players on the pitch. Castillo’s defenses are also spectacular. Volley Bergamo did what it could. A few good attacks from Lorrayna and Lanier weren’t enough to maintain even the slightest balance. The imbalance of values, both individually and collectively, is too evident. There is a partial figure that says it all: none of the players from Bergamo finished in double figures. And, if that weren’t enough, we add another one: 3-11 the calculation of the walls. And it will be a seal.
