It is the third match of the series that ends in the fifth set. Valsa leads in sets on two occasions and then dominates the tie break. Mati finishes with 14 points and 91%. The decisive match is on Sunday
For the third time in four matches, Piacenza-Modena ends in the fifth set after a match that lasts well over two hours. The hosts do not take advantage of the first match point, Valsa snatches it from their hands and leads in the sets on two occasions and then dominates the tie break, bringing five players into double figures with the central defenders being the main protagonists: Mati is capable of finishing with an impressive 91 percent and 14 points overall. Modena recovers Sanguinetti who immediately finds a place among the starters, Gas Sales Bluenergy on the other hand has Comparoni not at the top and starts with the very young Iyegbekedo, even if the Italian will then find space during the race in progress. Valsa had a better approach and dictated the pace throughout the first half, with the home team chasing and unable to overcome their opponents. For three sets there is a great balance: in the second half a couple of guest errors decide the partial, in the third two consecutive aces from Buchegger in the decisive phase put Modena ahead who then gives way to Piacenza in the only set without history. We reach the tie break again, but unlike the previous two there is no match: Valsa flies 7-3 and never looks back, taking the series back to Modena where the decisive Game 5 will be played on Sunday.
Piacenza-Modena 2-3 (23-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-16, 7-15)
