Volleyball players with Marring and Dijkema also win their fourth match at the European Championship

VOLLEYBALL – The Dutch volleyball players, with Laura Dijkema from Beilen and Nova Marring from Assen in the ranks, also won their fourth game at the European Championship in Estonia. The team of national coach Felix Koslowski defeated France 3-1 (25-23 27-25 21-25 26-24) in an exciting match.

After the previous victories against Spain, Slovakia and Estonia, the Orange occupies first place in the group. The team closes the group stage on Wednesday with a match against Finland, after which the tournament continues in Italy and Belgium. The competitions for the medals are in Belgium.

The Dutch, which had not yet given up a set in Estonia, also started well against France. After an exciting final phase, the number 4 of the previous European Championship won the first set 25-23. France also took the lead several times in the second set, but the Netherlands turned the set in its favor again: 27-25.

The Orange also showed resilience in the third set. France took a 15-10 lead, but the Netherlands found the connection again with four points in a row. The French, however, ran out again and this time they did not relinquish the lead: 21-25.

The fourth set was the same as the first two. France created a margin of 4 points (21-17), after which the Orange came alongside again moments later at 23-23. Thanks to a block by Marrit Jasper, the Netherlands made it 24-23, but France managed to brush away the first match point. A second match point was redeemed by Jasper moments later: 26-24.
