Gas Sales suffers in the first two sets but decides in the final, then spreads. Monza with their sixth defeat in a row and increasingly in crisis on the eve of Civitanova
Third consecutive victory for Piacenza, which beat Monza 0-3 at the end of a hard-fought match in the first two halves, when the hosts managed to thwart their opponents with an orderly attack. Piacenza’s serve, however, grows with distance, putting Beretta and his teammates in more and more difficulty. MVP is Mandiraci, dominant in every fundamental. For the Lombards, little incisiveness in the key moments of the first two sets, which were only turned in favor of the red and whites at the end, but the ranking continues to cry, after the sixth consecutive defeat and on the eve of the match against Civitanova.

Eccheli chooses the three bands, starting with Zimmermann opposite Marttila, Rohrs and Atanasov on the side, Beretta and Mosca in the center with Scanferla free. Boninfante responds with the diagonal Porro-Bovolenta, Mandiraci and Gutierrez spikers, Simon and Galassi central and Pace libero. Monza started better, but as soon as the guests forced their serve with Mandiraci, they made a break and put their head ahead (8-9 after a 0-4). It’s the theme of the match, the locals hold up with reception and in attack they score with the pipes. At 22 all the exchange that directs the fraction, because Vero Volley does not convert two counterattacks, Gas Sales goes ahead and closes 23-25. Monza doesn’t give up, raising the level of the block defense (2 blocks in a row by Rohrs on Bovolenta at the start). In the central phase, great moment from Scanferla (foot reception and high level defense), and the Lombards lead 17-14. Teams arm in arm until Mandiraci, uncatchable from the start of the match, scores 3 times in a row (1 ace) for 22-24, prelude to 23-25 which sends the guests to 0-2. The third set lasts until 11-12, then Piacenza breaks away, with the attack flying at 72% and the block (4 in the half) stopping Monza, who surrenders 17-25.
Monza: Marttila 11 points, Muri team 7, Ace team 1.
Piacenza: Mandiraci 22 points, Muri team 8, Ace team 6 (Mandiraci and Simon 3).
