VOC again in a class of its own for SEW; Amsterdammers to play-offs for national title

The VOC handball players have qualified for the final battle for the national championship. Just like last week, the Amsterdam formation of Rachel de Haze was much too strong for SEW from Nibbixwoud. Due to the 31-25 victory, VOC can no longer be traced in Championship Pool B.

Last week, VOC already booked a resounding 37-22 victory over fellow countryman SEW. The opponent from West Friesland was also today a size too small for VOC in the capital. At halftime there was already an eight-point gap between the two teams: 17-9.

SEW tried to do something back in the second half, but coach Michael Vijverberg’s formation was never able to make the gap smaller than five points. In the end, the difference between the two teams turned out to be too great and VOC ended up with a sovereign 31-25 victory.

Playoffs

Due to the victory, VOC can no longer be traced in the Championship Pool B. VOC won all its matches and can prepare for the play-offs for the national championship. The opponent in this will be Venlo, just like last year. Best-of-three-series matches will take place on May 20, May 27, and Saturday, June 3 if necessary.

A summary of the competition and reactions from those involved will follow later on this website.
