At 5 a.m. a concentration of more than 35 micrograms per cubic meter was measured over a 24-hour period. This exceeded the information threshold, and by 9 am the concentration rose further from 37 micrograms. According to IRCEL, the Interregional Cell for the Environment, the smog will remain for at least 24 hours. The authority only expects an improvement from Wednesday due to increasing wind and rain.
