Vlaams Belang opposes emergency shelter in Jabbeke

The asylum center is to be located on a business park in Jabbeke, on the site of the Buildings Agency. Vlaams Belang prefers that the site be used as a business zone and for cultural and youth facilities, partly because the location is not suitable for habitation and is close to a residential area.

New requests

This year, 26,636 asylum applications were received. In September there were 4,000. That is why the core cabinet decided that Jabbeke must provide emergency shelter.

The party is also planning a similar action at De Horizon in Bredene.
