The first time Michael Schumacher started the start of Formula 1 in Jordan in 1991. Benetton, Ferrari and Mercedes followed three more teams. “Schumi”, as he was always called, won seven world championship titles and delighted the audience and fans with his likeable way. Since Schumacher suffered a serious skiing accident in 2013, little is known about the racing driver icon. His family protects his private life. However, he should always get a visit from outside – apparently from three people.
According to the British “Telegraph”, Jean Todt, Ross Brawn and Gerhard Berger. It is already known that the former Ferrari team boss Todt regularly stops at Schumacher. In March of this year, Todt explained to the Italian newspaper “Corriere della Sera”: “I see Michael at least twice a month. I don’t leave him alone.”
The 79-year-old explained: “He, Corinna, the family: We have had many experiences together. The beauty of what we have experienced is part of us and continues.”
Ross Brawn and Schumacher also combine a long time in the premier class of motorsport. The Briton was a technical director at Benetton and won the two world championship titles of the German with “Schumi” and the team. In addition, Brawn later moved to Ferrari and also successfully worked with the Scuderia driver there.
And Gerhard Berger? The Austrian and Schumacher were competitors on the route. Apart from that, according to Berger, the initial rejection turned into a close relationship. He told “Auto Revue” in an interview four years ago: “We then became really good friends over time and I can only say good things.”
This also reported Flavio Briatore, Schumacher’s former team boss at Benetton last week. The 75-year-old explained “Corriere della Sera”: “When I close my eyes, I see him smile after a win. I prefer to remember him as he just lay in bed.” However, Briatore confirmed that he had contact with the wife of Schumacher: “But Corinna and I often talk to each other.”
