The FIFA Ethical Committee investigates the movements of the “All Exporting Agency”, a company attributable to the Brazilian and managed by his father and his agent Thassilo Soares, in the acquisition of two professional football clubs
Vinicius Jr. risks big. The accusation for the Real Madrid striker and the Brazilian national team is to have violated the ethical code of FIFA, with particular reference to paragraph 20, which deals with the conflict of interest of professional players. But let’s go in order. Everything starts from the complaint of the Brazilian company “Tiberis Holding” which, on April 7, turned to the Investigation Chamber of the FIFA Ethical Committee denouncing the acquisition of some football clubs by the “Exparent Agency”, attributable to Vinicius and managed by his father and his agent Thassilo Soares. Which, being the Brazilian a footballer still in activity, would represent a conflict of interest according to the current FIFA rules.
The complaint
–
The first act is the sale of the Athletic Club of São João del Rei, a Brazilian club of Serie B, of which Tiberis held 16.5% of the shares and aimed at buying the majority share. The operation, however, has faded due to the insertion of the “exporting agency”, which then assumed control of the club. Tiberis then denounced the player for violation of article 20 of the Code of Ethics of Fifa, who regulates the conflict of interest that – reads – “arises if a person bound by this code has, or seem to have, secondary interests that could influence his ability to carry out his duties with integrity, independence and determination”.
The Conceiçao case
–
In addition to the Athletic Club, the company attributable to Vinicius Jr. has also recently acquired control of the Alverça, a club that plays in the second Portuguese series. And the two clubs in fact also closed a market operation, with the player Rafael Conceição passed on loan from the Brazilian team to the Portuguese team.
What Vinicius risks
–
If the ethical committee were to find the violation, Vinicius Jr. would risk a suspension of up to two years, a fine and the obligation to give in to his participations of the two companies. Everything now passes into the hands of FIFA, which will have the task of clarifying a story that holds the bench in Brazil but, as seen, it may also have repercussions elsewhere. Also because, before the complaint, the Vinicius company seemed one step away from the purchase of a third -series Spanish club.
