After storm Alice (a so-called DANA) previously ravaged the Valencia region and the Balearic Islands, it wreaked havoc in Catalonia on Sunday, where the streets of Godall and La Ràpita turned into swirling rivers that swept away everything in their path. Authorities are calling it a “state of emergency” and more rain is expected on Monday. Code red applies until midnight on the south coast of the Valencia region. “I come here every year, but I have never experienced such puddles,” says Flemish Glenn Geyselings.
