On Friday afternoon, transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that TSG Hoffenheim would like to sign Rory Wilson from Aston Villa. There was a loan with a purchase obligation of 7 million euros. According to Sky, the 20-year-old attacker’s move is off the table because it is too expensive and was only planned for the U23s in the 3rd league anyway.

Wilson came to the Villans in 2022 and initially played for their U18s. In 2024, the Scottish U21 international was promoted to the U21, for which he has played 37 games with eleven goals and three assists. It wasn’t enough for a debut with the professionals. A good year and a half ago, Wilson was also loosely linked to RB Leipzig.
Hoffenheim have improved once so far this winter and brought in right winger Cole Campbell from Borussia Dortmund. In return, striker David Mokwa went to SV Elversberg. With 40 goals, the third-place team has the second-best offensive line in the Bundesliga.
