Pablo Grillo, a graphic reporter, is in serious condition after receiving the impact of a tear gas capsule fired by the city police during the repression of the protest of retirees in Congress. He suffered loss of brain mass and fights for his life at the Ramos Mejía hospital.

The brutal scene was recorded on video. In the images, captured by the journalist Emanuel Coria de FM the tribe, you can see the exact moment in which Grillo, while doing his job, falls after the impact. “The gases came from the police cordon, fired them in the air and arrived very far. For me it was quite affound, ”Coria said in dialogue with Infobae live.

The attack did not end there. According to witnesses, when a group of protesters tried to help the photographer, the police continued to advance and repress. “He was a lot of blood and took him in walks. The most serious thing is that the police continued advancing when the round was armed to assist it, ”Coria added. At night, his father, Fabián Grillo, confirmed that Paul was being operated and that his situation was critical. “He was working independently,” he said.

Repression and violence in the streets

In addition to the attack on cricket, the repression left a balance of 12 injured civilians, more than 100 detainees and material damage of great magnitude. A city policeman was reached by a bullet on his arm and is admitted to the Argerich hospital, while six other uniformed suffered wounds.

The protest of retirees became violent after the presence of organized groups, which resulted in an escalation of clashes between protesters and security forces. The city police and federal troops responded with tear gas, rubber bullets and hydrant trucks.

For his part, the general secretary of ATE, Rodolfo Aguiar, denounced the “brutal repression” and demanded the release of the detainees, including the unionist Daniel Catalano, who regained his freedom after 20.

The images of the day show a scenario of extreme violence: patrolmen burned, containers in flames, stones, torn tiles and destruction in the area. According to estimates of the Buenos Aires government, repair costs amount to 275 million pesos.
