M.now very little hip to the 2022 edition of the VMAs, the MTV Video Music Awards. Classic moment of magical and very popular late summer. This year’s edition – packed with guests and performances – will take place in the night between Sunday 28 and Monday 29 August starting from 02.00 Italian time, live from the Prudential Center in New York.
Lots of guests: from Anitta to J Balvin
The anticipated event will air on more than 170 countries in the world and in Italy it can be seen on MTV (Sky channel 131 and streaming on NOW) and on MTV Music (Sky channel 132 and 704). There will be many guests who will perform between one award ceremony and another. Among them there are Anitta (candidate for the Moon Person in the category Best Latinwill sing his latest single for the first time on television Envolver), J Balvin (Nivel de Perreo with Ryan Castro is the song with which he will make the whole venue dance) and the iconic couple formed by Marshmello and Khalid. The two will bring theirs to the New York stage Numba song that is conquering the charts of the world.
But that is not all. In the event conducted by LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj And Jack Harlow there will also be the Blackpink (they will bring theirs Pink Venom – first excerpt from the second studio album Born Pink – and, yes, there is a great expectation), Kane Brown, Dove Cameron, Saucy Santana, Yung Gravy and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The iconic band has just released Tippa My Tonguefirst single released by the new project Return of the Dream Canteen which will be released on October 14th. Will this be the song they will show up on stage with? It seems so, but nothing is official yet.

The Måneskin at the VMAs
Among the most anticipated guests of the VMAs there is also a group that has now become flag of Italian rock in the world. THE Måneskin will be among the artists who will perform on the New York stage.
The band led by Damiano David will make the audience dance in the hall and the one from home (we are sure, despite the inauspicious time for the Italians who will follow him live) with the latest release, Supermodel. The band is also nominated in two categories: Best New Artist And Best Alternative Video (for I Wanna Be Your Slave).

In the past few months, the Måneskin have got us used to strong stances against war and discrimination. They have done so in multiple situations, especially at memorable events, as they promise to be this Sunday’s VMAs. Will it be an opportunity for them to expose themselves again against the war that Putin has started against Ukraine? We’ll see…

Latest guests announced Eminem and Snoop Dogg. The icons of world rap will bring a unique performance of From the D 2 The LBCinspired by the world of the Otherside metaverse and created in collaboration with Yuga Labs. The two are named in the category Best Hip Hop with this piece representing their first collaboration in over 20 years. Their performance will be a moment that we will undoubtedly have a hard time forgetting.

This year, by the way, she is also a candidate in the category Best Hip Hop.
