A successful long-distance throw almost with the final siren ensures a narrow Euroleague away win for the FC Bayern Munich basketball players.

After a last-second victory, FC Bayern Munich can once again hope for the playoffs in the Basketball Euroleague. A successful long-distance throw from Sylvain Francisco ensured a 79:78 (41:45) win at Partizan Belgrade on Thursday. With a record of 11:15, coach Pablo Laso’s team is two wins behind the coveted playoff places.

In front of the eyes of former soccer world champion and long-time Bayern professional Bastian Schweinsteiger, the Munich team started the game with concentration. The Laso team led 26:23 after the first quarter and expanded their lead to seven points at the start of the second half (12th minute).

Decision 1.1 seconds before the end

The Serbs, who were strong at home, got stronger with every minute until the break and were ahead 45:41 after 20 minutes after an intermediate spurt.

Partizan was in the lead by ten points at times in a match that was tough after the break (57:47/25th). But Bayern stayed in the game and were able to equalize to 72:72 three minutes before the end through former NBA professional Serge Ibaka.

With 1.1 seconds left, Munich’s top scorer Francisco (20 points) clinched the important away win with a successful three-point throw.
