Breaks for Paderborn

The unfortunate defeat in the promotion in the promotion race after the 1-2 in the previous week against 1. FC Köln was the unfortunate defeat. Again, the East Westphalia did not bring a lead to the finish and in Braunschweig they left numerous chances.

Paderborns Grimaldi hangs up for Bilbija

The favorite Paderborns had the first big opportunity early. Aaron tenth, hardworking flankener in the second division, served the ball from the left to the head of Grimaldi. The attacker headed the crossbar from six meters – there was more in it. Grimaldi and Ilyas looked at fragrance from the start because Sven Michel and Marvin Mehlem failed.

As a result, Paderborn also dominated the game and rewarded himself in the 26th minute. A new cross on Grimaldi, this time by Laurin Curda, was the starting point. Grimaldi put back in the middle, where Bilbija pressed the ball over the line with his chest.

Bilbilla’s chain is doomed Paderborn

The fact that the goal was not enough for a break was due to two strong shots of Braunschweig. Krauße made the ball brilliantly from 18 meters to the crossbar, the rebounded speedometer volley over goalkeeper Manuel Riemann to the flattering balance.

After the game, coach Kwasniok said angrily about a curious scene in advance: “Before the free kick, which leads to 1-1, we lose a player with Bilbilla because he was still wearing a hand chain.” Bilbilla had apparently forgot to put the chain before the game. And the referee team noticed the jewelry forbidden on the field shortly before the break. Bilbilla had to put the chain on the sidelines and could therefore not get involved for a short time.

Braunschweig with luck

The Paderborns were not impressed and struck directly again after the change of sides. After a wonderful combination about Felix Götze and Bilbija Grimaldi pushed the ball into the right corner, Ron Thorben Hoffmann could no longer ward off despite fingertips.

Just four minutes later, Hoffmann parried spectacularly against a rich shot of tenth. Only seconds later clarified a Grimaldi head on the line – only with luck brown brownschweig survived this phase without further goal.

Braunschweig’s Philippe ends dry spell

As is so often the case in football, a poor opportunities were punished, in this case by Philippe. Paderborns Curda lost the ball in the building game to Tachie, then Philippe Frei ran towards Riemann. Substitute Frenchman transformed into the left corner and ended his dry spell of 14 goalless second division games. Philippe had scored nine goals on the first 13 match days.

Just seven minutes after the equalizer, Eintracht went one step further, even took the lead through Bell Bell’s deflected shot from the edge of the box – it was Braunschweig’s second Jokertor.

Grimaldi forgives huge chance

Paderborn then pushed out of the equalization if he had deserved it in view of many good attacks and degrees. On the other hand – if you leave such great opportunities like Grimaldi in the 83rd minute freely ahead of goalkeeper Hoffmann, you have to attribute the defeat yourself.
