Milan (AP) – The head-to-head race between the two top football clubs in Milan, AC and Inter, continues.

Milan beat Fiorentina 1-0 (0-0) on the fourth-to-last matchday after a late goal by Rafael Leao, leaving them two points ahead of the defending champions, who won 2-1 (2-0) at Udinese Calcio. The other pursuers SSC Napoli (6-1 against Sassuolo Calcio) and record champions Juventus Turin (2-1 against FC Venice) only have outsider chances.

Victory in Udine was particularly important for Inter after the team blundered 2-1 in Bologna during the week. Former Bundesliga professional Ivan Perisic (12th) and Lautaro Martinez (39th) scored for the guests. Udine only managed to get the connection goal through Ignacio Pussetto (72′).
