Nena Kruizenga, the most famous victim of the online abuse for which Thijs Römer was convicted, wanted to commit suicide when it became clear that the actor had to go into the cell. “I was admitted.”
Thijs Römer has cost Thijs Römer his entire career online. The most famous victim of the actor is Nena Kruizenga, because she has stepped out with this story and has given interviews several times to the media. Now she tells the Story That the conviction of the actor has done a lot with her.
Intensive Care
In January 2024, a few months after Thijs’ conviction, Nena was included in the closed section of GGZ in Drenthe. “In the period after the court case it went downhill with me. I felt no support, everyone in my area was silent about everything that had happened. That made me Suicidal.”
She continues: “I lived for years with the aim of getting Thijs to court, so that he would be punished for his actions. When that had happened and Thijs got a punishment, I thought: I have nothing left to live for. I have made several fierce suicide attempts and I ended up in intensive care.”
Sink
Nena was almost no longer there. “That says enough, it was really a lace. I was then admitted to a crisis measure at GGZ. I didn’t want that myself. I was forced! When I came to ask the practitioners what was going on with me.” I want to die, I don’t care how that happens. “”
She spent eleven months in that closed department. “I was in the closed department for eleven months. When I went a little better, I was transferred to the normal department. I was there for another months before I was allowed to go home – a year and a half after my forced admission – last week.”
No apologies
How are Nena doing now? “When I could think clearly again, I thought: I still have so much to live for and I can help many girls and boys who have experienced similar things.”
According to her practitioners, she needs apologies from Thijs, but: “I missed the understanding of Thijs, he still did not apologize. (…) I would like his apologies and understanding now. But he has never said sorry sorry to this day.”
