VfL Wolfsburg is probably knocking on Osasuna’s Sánchez – Paulo Otávio should extend

Construction site left defense

VfL Wolfsburg is facing a change in the left-back position. The contracts of Paulo Otávio (28) and Jérôme Roussillon (30) end in the summer. While the former is to be kept, Roussillon apparently has no further future with the “Wolves”. The “mark“ now also brings a candidate for a signing into play.

Accordingly, the Lower Saxony knocked on Manu Sánchez from CA Osasuna. The 22-year-old has been on loan from Atlético Madrid this season and has made 14 appearances so far, providing three assists. With the Rojiblancos, the Spanish U21 international, whose market value is estimated at 10 million euros, is then tied until 2027. According to the report, VfL competes with Real Betis Sevilla in the courtship for Sánchez, both of whom are said to want to add the left-footed player to their team in winter. At Betis, Sánchez could succeed Álex Moreno (29), who is set to join Aston Villa.

VfL Wolfsburg “first point of contact” for Paulo Otávio – Relvas not an issue

Paulo Otávio, one of seven Wolfsburg players whose working papers are ending, emphasized at the training camp in Almancil, Portugal, that VfL was his “first point of contact”, even if there was contact with another club through his agent. “We are in good talks, the decision could be made in the next few weeks,” said the Brazilian (quoted via “table football“). The left-back is set for the Lower Saxony this season, only at the beginning he had to pass. He has played in every game since Matchday 3 and prepared four goals, making him the best assist in the team.

Paulo Otávio wants to base his decision on what is best for the family. “Where will I make the last step? 28 is a good age to be a footballer, but the end is still not that far away. We think hard. Do I stay here, do I do something else, maybe in Brazil?” But staying in the Bundesliga “would be good for me”. “I can achieve anything with VfL. Staying here would be a good decision,” said the left-footed player, who has made a total of 64 appearances for the “Wolves” so far.

According to the “Kicker”, a transfer of central defender Filipe Relvas from Portimonense SC is not an issue. Reports that an offer has already been made for the 23-year-old are not true. The Portuguese is not on the list of Wolfsburg.
