Eintracht Frankfurt is facing the total break. Now the loss of a German international – to a direct competitor.

Before the last matchday in the women’s Bundesliga, the focus is on the direct qualification for the Champions League. While FC Bayern will surely take part in the “premier class” as a champion in the new season, VfL Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt are still fighting for their ticket.

The “wolves” currently have 48 points in the account, making it second in the table. Frankfurt ranks in third place and has collected 47 points so far. The Hessians will meet RB Leipzig on Sunday. Wolfsburg receives Bayer Leverkusen in parallel. Only the team that arrives in second place is certainly in the Champions League. The third must be through the qualification round.

The struggle of the two teams about the Champions League participation is now also piquant for another reason. Because as the “picture” reports, the VfL is interested in a player of Frankfurt Eintracht – and even strong. It is a German international.

We are talking about Sophia Kleinhernen. The defender has played 32 caps for the DFB team so far, scored her only goal in the preliminary round against Finland in the 2022 EM 2022. With the DFB team, Kleinhernen became Vice European champion at the time.

The 25-year-old would be the next well-known departure from Frankfurt. According to “Bild”, the two defensive players Anna Aehling and Tanja Pawollek surprisingly switch to Union Berlin. Apparently the climber pays you a lavish content.

Carlotta Wamser will also go. The young striker’s goal is still unknown. Austria’s national player Barbara Dunst is now drawn to FC Bayern, Sophie Nachtigall to Freiburg-and stammer goalkeeper and DFB professional Stina Johannes to VfL Wolfsburg.

The Lower Saxony Club has to struggle with a wave of exit itself. On Thursday it became known that Anneke Borbe, Sveindís Jónsdóttir and Lynn Wilms will leave three other Stars Wolfsburg after the season. Overall, the team around ex-DFB captain Alexandra Popp has already recorded ten departures. Among other things, the former German internationals Marina Hegering and Merle Frohms as well as the current DFB stars Kathrin Hendrich and Jule Brand leave the club.

However, newcomers have already reported both Wolfsburg and Frankfurt. In addition to Johannes, Cora Zicai from Freiburg also comes to VfL. Goal scorer Erëleta Memeti and goalkeeper Sophia Winkler joined the Eintracht.
