One of the top candidates
When looking for a new head coach, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s U23 coach Eugen Polanski is apparently one of the top favorites at VfL Osnabrück. How “Sky“ reports, the 37-year-old is one of the “small circle of preferred candidates”. The bottom of the second division parted ways with promotion coach Tobias Schweinsteiger on Tuesday, and the previous assistants Martin Heck and Tim Danneberg took over the management on an interim basis.
It is said that discussions are already underway between those responsible in Osnabrück and Polanski. The former defensive midfielder has not yet made a decision. Polanski, who played 254 times in the Bundesliga until his career ended in 2018, has been responsible for Gladbach’s second representation in the Regionalliga West since 2022. He previously worked as a U17 coach for the “Fohlen”. In the summer he was temporarily considered a candidate for the professional team.
