VfL Osnabrück clarifies Schweinsteiger’s future

VfL Osnabrück has prematurely extended the contract with coach Tobias Schweinsteiger. However, the club did not provide any specific information about the exact term of the new working paper.

“The long-term contract extension is a clear signal that we want to develop the club together with him in the coming years, because Tobias fits 100 percent to VfL and Bremer Brücke in every respect,” said VfL sports director Amir Shapourzadeh in a statement quoted.

The 41-year-old Schweinsteiger took over the current fourth-placed side in August last year and gradually led him into the top group of the 3rd division.

“I feel very comfortable at VfL Osnabrück and in the region. I really enjoy working with my team, my staff and the managers at the club,” said the older brother of world champion Bastian Schweinsteiger.

On Sunday (1:00 p.m./MagentaSport), Osnabrück welcomes fifth-placed Dynamo Dresden to the top game.
