After the victories of Heidenheim and Kiel, Bochum was under high pressure against Union. But the club from the Ruhrpott only got a draw.
The fear of relegation at VfL Bochum is getting bigger. The team of coach Dieter Hecking has only a 1-1 against Union Berlin and is now the bottom of the table after 31 Bundesliga match days. The gap to the relegation place is four points, even nine points in 15th place.
Union Benedict Hollerbach had given the “Iron” from the capital with a deflected shot early (17th minute). Bochum came to equalize through Matúš Bero by penalty. Another hit should no longer follow. Next Friday, Bochum will meet Heidenheim in the relegation cracker. A defeat would mean the safe descent.
