Center trainer Juan José Perea is changing from VfB Stuttgart to Swiss first division club FC Zurich, for which the 25-year-old had already ran a loan last season and had contributed seven goals and two templates in 28 games. In Zurich, the Colombian signed a contract until June 30, 2026 with an option for two more years.
“Juan showed convincing achievements in the Super League for FC Zurich last season and impressively demonstrated his qualities until his injury. The permanent move to Zurich is now the logical step, we wish Juan all the best and good luck for the future,” said sports director Christian Gentner.
In the summer of 2022, attacker Perea switched from Greek first division club Pas Giannina to VfB for 2.4 million euros and played a total of 19 games for the Swabians in his first season-he ran 16 times in the Bundesliga and three times in the DFB Cup. He scored a goal. In the subsequent 2023/24 season, Perea played on loan for the second division club Hansa Rostock at the time before the step to FC Zurich in Switzerland also followed in the following season. At the beginning of March, he contracted a Achilles tendon tear in the away game against FC Lugano, whereupon he missed the rest of the season.
