VfB Stuttgart: Borna Sosa wants to play in the Premier League – Labbadia is the best coach

Topic Bayer 04 “is done”

Borna Sosa from VfB Stuttgart is aiming for a move to England in the future. “Like many players, I dream of playing in the Premier League one day,” said the Croatian World Cup bronze medalist “Image” interview. “It’s the strongest league in the world. It’s not just the big six top clubs, the other teams are strong too.”

Sosa’s contract with VfB runs until June 30, 2025. With a market value of 20 million euros, the full-back is the most valuable player in the Swabian squad, where he has long been considered a candidate for sale for financial reasons. During the winter break, a move to Bayer Leverkusen was in the air, but ultimately didn’t materialize due to different transfer ideas.

“Every player sets goals in his career and I want to play in a team that has a European presence if possible,” said Sosa. “But the move to Leverkusen didn’t work out and that’s the end of the matter. I feel very comfortable at VfB, I’ve been here for almost five years. I want to help achieve our goals.” Staying in Stuttgart is “no problem” for him.

Bruno Labbadia, the new coach of the relegation-threatened Swabians, praised Sosa in the highest tones. “I think he’s the best coach I’ve had in my career so far,” said the 25-year-old. “I have a lot of respect for coaches who were once good players themselves. And he was a great player. If he tells us something, he knows exactly what he’s talking about because he used to experience things himself as a player.” He has a good relationship with the coach, whom VfB brought back to the Neckar during the winter break.
