Kesteloot’s party Team 8630 won the elections in Veurne with 9 of the 23 seats, but he failed to form a coalition. Veurne Plus from Peter Roose eventually teamed up with Voe Veurne.
Kesteloot cannot now sit on the municipal council with his daughter-in-law, and is now ceding his opposition seat to her. He remains active in the OCMW, in the special committee of social services.
