Bernard Osta has appointed the luxury resale platform Vestiaire Collective. Osta succeeds Maximilian Bittner, who has held the leadership position since 2018.
Osta’s appointment marks the beginning of a “new growth phase”, explained Vestiaire Collective in a message. The manager has been working in the company since 2021. He initially started as a Chief Strategy Officer before he was appointed Chief Financial Officer in September 2023.
Previously, Osta had worked as an investment banker at Lazard for 15 years and later at Goldman Sachs. He is currently also a member of the supervisory board of the media group Vivendi.
In a joint statement, the Vestiaire Collective Bittner board of directors thanked for the “crucial role” that he held in the management of the company. The Board of Directors is now “pleased to open a new chapter under Bernard’s leadership”.
“His sound knowledge of the company, its international experience and its strong leader will be invaluable for Vestiaire Collective in the next growth phase,” the statement said.
In his own explanation, Osta praised the “unique position” that the company had reached in the second-hand luxury fashion industry. He added: “This is a particularly exciting time for the company. With the advent of AI, we have the extraordinary way to accelerate our product roadmap, offer the best customer experience and to gain market share.”
